We recommend a minimum of 2TB SSD disks (see Requirements).
However, actual disk usage is heavily dependent on how many scenarios you want to work on simultaneously.
For one scenario, you must account for:
- Record data: a few GiB, depending on the scenario’s OS and duration. For example, 30 seconds of a regular Microsoft Windows 10 system with 2GiB of RAM can take around 1.5GiB of disk space.
- Replay data (resources): from a few GiB to a few hundreds of GiB and more. For example, resources are likely to take 250GiB for a 30-second scenario on a regular Microsoft Windows 10 system.
Once you no longer need to work on a scenario, you can delete its resources and only keep the recording, reducing the amount of disk space used:
- The recording is the only data you need to keep archived. You can always regenerate the resources if you need to analyze that scenario later.
- REVEN includes an import/export feature to help you manage your fast storage space effectively by archiving unused scenarios on slower storage.
